It was a nice day cold, but nice day to start the next chapter in our lives together. Yesterday was my last day at work. We’re getting ready for our life of part-time Rvers (travel trailers? Campers?). I’m not really sure what to call us. LeeAnn retired in September, and we decided in November that we weren’t going to be able to travel the way we wanted if I kept working full time. So, we decided to expand a four-day camping trip we already had planned for the Florida Caverns State Park into a five-week trip that includes a side trip to Maryland.
We also had a week-long trip planned to Clarksdale, MS, for the Juke Joint Fest in the middle of April. Now that’ll be a seven-week trip that has us meandering to Michigan for the Tulip Festival in May. After that: Tennessee in the summer, and a leaf-peeping trip to Maine in the fall.
We can’t wait to begin our adventure! In the leadup to heading out on our first trip, I’ll be posting things from past camping trips we’ve taken. It’s our plan that we’ll feature both the natural beauty of the places we visit, but also what’s wonderful about the small and not-so-small towns we visit along the way.
We really hope you can follow our adventures as we’re Roaming Thru America!
Edit:
It took longer than expected to get the website up and running. I’m going to concentrate on the current, and as time allows, fill in old travel destinations. Thanks. Joshua 2 May 2022
